Video training for foster parents
The Toronto Children’s Aid Society helps parents build healthy families and provides safe, nurturing environments for children. One of the services they provide is PRIDE – a preparation course for foster and adoptive parents.
The subject matter is important and there is a lot to cover. The Toronto Children’s Aid Society wanted a series of take-home teaching aids in case anyone was forced to miss a class. Video was the logical solution – clear, easily understood and convenient.
eMotion created a series of educational DVDs that contained all the information learned in class. We helped to craft the scripts and integrated an existing slide show. To teach the material, we used real PRIDE facilitators, foster and adoptive parents. This accomplished two things: it gave the videos a real feeling of authenticity and it kept the not-for-profit organization’s costs down. We also integrated graphics and animation to augment comprehension.
Morag Demers of The Toronto Children’s Aid Society comments on our work:
“The videos turned out great. Becoming a foster or adoptive parent is a huge decision to make. I can feel confident giving out the DVD because eMotion created exactly the educational pieces we were looking for. I am proud of the work we did together."
