eMotion Picture Studios | Promotional Video Case Study
Our process, end to end
DRIcore is a Canadian subflooring manufacturer that invented a system of interlocking floor panels that is very easy to install.
Scott Wilson, President of eMotion Picture Studios says, "I’m especially proud of the video project we did for DRIcore. Here’s what happened:
We began by getting together with DRIcore principals, assembling all of their marketing material and brainstorming the video. It was an exciting session and by the end we had a storyboard outline for the shoot. Next, we designed and built a film set in our studio. We designed and lighted it in such a way that it looked as though shooting had occurred in several different basements.
We worked closely with DRIcore on script development, held casting calls and had 50+ actors come to our studio for casting auditions. We captured actors’ auditions on video and created a DVD of the 10 finalists for the client to review. DRIcore narrowed it down further and we hosted a callback with the actors and client for the final selection.
Next we began shooting. Phase one was performed in our studio, while phase two involved cutaway shots in real basements of real installations. We then captured client and contractor testimonials.
The next step was to edit the project. We have a unique, highly efficient method of editing: we take portable editing suites to the clients’ location and edit on site. This allows for ongoing communication between client and editor for faster reviews and approvals.
Finally, we prepared different versions of the finished video. We created a broadcast output for television, DVDs for tradeshows, interactive Flash CD-ROMs for handouts and mailers, and web delivery.
"DRIcore was ecstatic with the quality and value we provided. They hired us to do it again in French and Spanish. It’s great to complete successful projects like DRIcore's."
