Dr. Tytus explains the need for patient education videos and how the development of these videos helps benefit both patients and physicians. Physicians have less than 15 minutes to see their patient. Many diseases or sicknesses require more education than a physician can fit into a 15 minute appointment. Studies prove that most patients forget over 60% of the appointment content by the time they get home. eMedCom's patient education videos means the patient can take the videos home to digest up to 30 minutes of disease specific relevant content. The patient has time to digest the information and formulate good question to take to the doctor for the follow up appointment. So far we've had very positive feedback from patients and physicians. Over 380 doctors in Ontario have signed up for a custom patient education video. We hope to see that number grow to include new physicians and cover new diseases.
