The eMotion Team

Scott Wilson

Scott Wilson’s career began with a video camera. At an early age, he turned his hobby of video production into a business when he was hired to document the 2002 Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Weekend in Columbus, Ohio. His work was warmly commended by Arnold himself, and Wilson left with a glowing letter of reference and a newly fueled passion for editing to found his own video production firm, eMotion Picture Studios.
With business growing, in 2004 Scott hired a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) consultant to boost eMotion’s Google rankings. The disappointing result: a hefty bill and no ranking change. Taking many of the same skills and scientific approach to research that had made eMotion a leader in its trade show/Internet streaming video categories, and aided by government research grants, Scott and his staff trained their sights on deciphering the factors that determined search engine rankings. They quickly began implementing SEO solutions for video production clients and in 2006 they created RankHigher, a company dedicated to boosting search engine rankings. From then to now, eMotion has consistently maintained a #1 or #2 position in Google rankings for the term “trade show video”.
Married with three children, Scott lives in Burlington, Ontario.

Bill Wilson

Bill Wilson is a manager with a broad range of experience in manufacturing operations. His background in Industrial Engineering, especially his experience with lean manufacturing, has influenced the work methodology at eMotion Picture Studios. eMotion’s competitive advantage comes from standard operating procedures that improve efficiency and quality.

Bill was a Plant Manager before starting his own management consulting business in 1986. Bill has the rare ability to make complicated subjects easy and fun to learn. Bill used his deep knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) to teach Statistical Thinking at General Motors (Oshawa), Ford Motor Company (Oakville), and Chrysler (Brampton). He also taught their suppliers: Siemens Automotive, Budd Automotive, Fram Filters and others.

Working with automotive companies during this period was demanding. The focus had just turned to better quality at less cost, something we are more familiar with today. It’s achieved by doing it right the first time. SPC teaches the importance of decisions based on data. These lessons resonate in the everyday practices of eMotion Picture Studios.

From the automotive industry, demand for Bill’s expertise spread to the food industry. Bill taught and implemented both Statistical Thinking and Lean Manufacturing for Campbell Soup Company, Gerber Food, Frito-Lay, Imperial Sugar, Rich Foods, Gatorade, Godiva Chocolatier and others.

Bill has implemented self-directed work cells at many businesses – another part of lean thinking at eMotion. Creating teams that are self-contained; cross-trained in all aspects of making the clients' video has real benefits. These include reduced cycle time, improving quality by editing on site at the client's workplace and reducing the costs of making a video by doing it right the first time.
